The Specs

Apple has recently introduced a keypad for the iPad Pro. Apple claims that with the new keyboard iPad Pro can perform like a computer. However, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S beats Apple’s iPad in terms of hardware and features.

Both tablets are fitted with a similar processor and RAM. Apple uses an A9X processor and 4GB RAM. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S is fitted with Intel Core M processor and 4GB RAM similar to iPad Pro.

Both Apple A9X and Intel Core M processors are clocked at 2.26 GHz. However, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S is better in terms of operating system and supported apps.

Operating System

Apple’s iPad Pro runs iOS 9.3 that is Apple’s operating system for mobile devices while Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Pro S runs Windows 10. That is one of the major advantages of Galaxy Tab Pro S over iPad Pro. Samsung’s tablet can run more apps than iPad Pro especially Microsoft Office 365 that is essential for any computer.

Design

Although the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is slightly bigger than Galaxy Tab Pro S, it affects the weight and thickness of the device as well. Apple’s iPad Pro measures 305.7 x 220.6 x 6.9 mm and weighs 713 grams. On the other hand Galaxy Tab Pro S measures 290 x 199 x 6.3mm and weighs 693 grams.

Battery

Both devices are fitted with almost similar batteries. Apple iPad Pro is fitted with 38.5 watt/hour battery component while Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S includes slightly powerful 39.5 watt/hour battery. Galaxy Tab Pro S battery can last little longer than iPad Pro.

Ports and Keyboards

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S includes USB Type-C port while iPad Pro includes USB 3.0 port. With USB Type-C Samsung’s tablet can use mouse as well. Apple’s Keyboard lacks trackpad and is not included in the box when customers buy iPad Pro.

Meanwhile, Samsung is offering trackpad on its keyboard that is included in the box. Thus it affects the price for those who want keyboard with their tablet. Although iPad Pro has its own advantages over Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S, the price is as important factor that matters.
